Spending hours in the sun to achieve that perfect golden-brown tan may be desirable to some people, but the over exposure to the sun can result in extremely sore, peeling, flaking, inflamed, tender skin and potentially dangerous sunburn.
Although we will not comment on the wisdom of sun exposure, which we do not advocate due to the increased risk of cancer and premature aging, we have blended an oil to help with any over-exposure to the sun's rays.
The quest for an even all-over tan has caused millions of people the trauma of sunburn - to a greater or lesser degree, and although this blend is not meant to treat sunstroke or severe sunburn, which may require medical attention - it is a wonderful remedy to take the sting out of sore, tender, and sun burnt skin.
When tanning, use a cream with a suitable sun protection factor to either screen or block the sun's rays - but if you have spent too much time in the sun, then have a look at this natural remedy to help you ease the symptoms of sunburn.
This Sunburn Blend, as with all our blends, were born from necessity, when clients requested specialized oils to help with specific problems.
We have formulated this blend using the feedback given by clients on what oils or combination of oils they find most effective.
Please note - this blend should not be used to tan with, and although some people claim that it deepens their tan, and helps to turn a sun burnt skin into a tanned skin - as it was developed to nourish and soothe inflamed and irritated sun burnt skin.
The carrier oils were chosen for their moisturizing and soothing properties, while the essential oils were selecting to sooth the pain, lessen the increased skin temperature, reduce swelling, help to prevent secondary inflammation as well as scarring and marks, promote the repair of the skin, encourage the formation of new skin and limit the damaged caused by the sun.
The oils used in the blend are listed below, and each oil is hyperlinked to individual information pages.
